MA Russian Studies:

The MA program in Russian Studies was launched in the Faculty in the academic year 2007-2008 to fill the great demand for a master’s degree in Russian Studies. Besides preparing the grounds for research about Russia, this program also paves the way for studying the former Soviet Republics in Central Asia, Caucasus and the Baltic region. Russian literature is among the world’s richest. Its culture, and of course its turbulent history before and after the rise of Comrades in this vast territory are investigated by the students with the help of their teachers. This program, apart from core courses in Political Science, also offers core courses in key disciplinary areas of International Studies, as well as a wide range of courses which are both discipline and area based. The program intends to promote expertise in social, political, cultural and economic affairs of Russia. This program is run by the Department of Russian Studies.

Course Structure 

The MA in Russian Studies program is a two-year course (four semesters). The students are required to complete the program maximum in five semesters. The subjects are offered on semester-credit basis. Minimum credits offered in each semester are nine.
The students of M.A. Russian Studies program, besides the prerequisite or deficiency subjects, should pass 32 credits (coursework and research) which include 14 compulsory credits, 10 optional credits and a dissertation of six credits.
