Russian professor at FWS

On Tuesday, a group of students from Keio University visited the Faculty of World St
udies University of Tehran, and met with UT students in the Japanese Studies to discuss current events in Japan.

The trip took place as part of a two part visit to Iran and then Turkey. The visiting students were st
udents in the polit
ical science studies and law programs.

Professor Mahdi Ahouie, head of Iranian Studies and advisor to the University President in international affairs, welcomed the students and gave a brief lecture on Iranian Studies at FWS. Dr. Ahouie expressed optimism for an increase in Japanese students to the Iranian Studies major.

Keio University is a private university which dates back to over 150 years. Founded in 1835 by Yukichi Fukuzawa, a Japanese researcher and intellectual, the university continues to flourish. Keio University currently has ten schools.
